Today Riley demonstrated the properties of a non-Newtonian fluid. He made oobleck from water and cornstarch and poured it into a balloon. It felt soft, like water if you squeezed it in your hand, but it felt hard if you tried to hit it.
That looks awesome Riley. I wish that I could walk on that, I have made that at home once, and believe me it was MESSY. Is what you made a little bit like a stress ball? Did you know that Sir Isaac Newton created this, that is why it is called Non-Newtonian Fluid.
Wow, you're like Einstein! The person who walked on the custard looks like he has super powers, you probably could walk on custard too. Did you know there is other non-Newtonian fluids but it works differently, for example oobleck gets harder the more force you put into it, but for tomato sauce which is another non-Newtonian fluid turns softer the more amount of force you put into it. What other non-Newtonian fluid do you know?
That looks cool Riley. Did you know that you could walk on custard if you had a pool full of it? Does your balloon feel it feel gooey? Is it hard when you try to smash it on concrete or does it break?
That looks cool that people can walk on custard. I wonder how he managed to walk on the pool of custard? I wouldn't want to lick that or walk on that would you? I wonder what it would feel like to walk on custard do you know?
