Reading
Today Room 8 went to the school library. When we returned to class we practiced Read to Self with our books. The whole class was peaceful, quiet and relaxed as we read. We love reading!
Family of Facts
Today in class we talked about the family of facts. These are 3 numbers that work together as a team and always go together to make four number sentences. We can use them for addition/subtraction or multiplication/division. Have a look at the examples from our maths lesson in the photo below and see if your child can think of 3 different numbers that work together in this way.

Maths
Today in maths we looked at adding numbers in a grid format. By adding the number at the top of the column with a number on the side, we can work out the answers.
For an extra challenge the answers were given and we had to work out the question numbers on the top and side of the columns to make it true.

Celebration
Congratulations to Shavaun who won 6 trophies on Saturday at the Junior Dragster Champs.
Racing a drag car, Shavaun won all the available trophies on offer for her age group.

Read to Self
Today we started talking about reading. We discussed some ideas about how we can make the most of our reading times. When we read by ourselves we can learn and have fun. We will build up our stamina in reading until we can read by ourselves for a long time.
