Enviro Day 8 - Planting, Feeding & Fun

Today Room 8 were Enviro Warriors! We replanted 160 seedlings, watered with worm tea, learnt about Ruru & created recycled art. It was a super fun saving the Earth day.

Today, Max and Isabelle received certificates at our syndicate assembly today. Well done!

Badminton

We had the first of two introductory badminton lessons this week.
Kevin, from Auckland Badminton, came to school to coach our Middle School classes in the basics of this fun sport.
We even learned some trick shots, like hitting the shuttle from between our legs and behind our backs.

Library Roadshow

Today we had a visit from the Auckland Library Roadshow. We were entertained, some people participated and we all learned some new things.

Teach The Teacher

Today Aayush demonstrated a science experiment to the class. He used water, food colouring, oil and salt to make 'opposite rain'.

Shocking!

This week we had a visit from Vector, the lines company. Esther gave a fun talk and helped us to learn lots of information about how to keep safe and identify electrical hazards.

Congratulations to Reuben who received a certificate at the school assembly today. His award was for demonstrating self-management, manners and kindness.  You're a top bloke!

Well done to Shavaun who received three certificates and a medal for her efforts at the Interschool Gymnastics and Champ Of Champs.

Teach The Teacher

Today Riley demonstrated the properties of a non-Newtonian fluid. He made oobleck from water and cornstarch and poured it into a balloon. It felt soft, like water if you squeezed it in your hand, but it felt hard if you tried to hit it.
